Move Off

  1. Press the clutch pedal [#8]
  2. Select gear with the gear lever [#6]
  3. Release the handbrake [#7]
  4. Release the clutch pedal [#8] and gently accelerate [#10]

Move Off Uphill

  1. Press the clutch pedal [#8]
  2. Select gear with the gear lever [#6]
  3. Release the clutch [#8] and gently accelerate [#10]
  4. Release handbrake [#7]

Slow Down or Stop

  1. Look in the mirrors to ensure it is safe to slow down or stop [#1 and #3]
  2. Release pressure on accelerator [#10] to slow down or stop gradually; apply pressure on brake pedal [#9] if you want to slow down or stop faster
  3. If stopping: When the vehicle is nearly stopped, apply the clutch [#8] to uncouple the engine from the transmission and come to a gentle stop

If you are approaching a sharp bend, apply the brakes [#9] before the bend so that you enter the bend at a safe speed and turn the steering wheel [#4] in a comfortable manner (just like Formula 1 drivers do it!)

Increase Speed

  1. Accelerate pushing the accelerator [#10]
  2. Engage clutch [#8], select higher gears [#6], and re-engage accelerator [#10] if you need to increase speed beyond what your existing gear can handle

Overtake or Change Direction

  1. Check mirrors and blindspots [#1 and #3]
  2. Use indicator to indicate your intention to overtake or change direction [#5]
  3. Check mirrors and blindspots [#1 and #3]
  4. Use the steering wheel to change lanes or direction and return to original lane or new lane safely [#4]
  5. Turn off indicator [#5]

Select Gear

  1. Engage the clutch [#8]
  2. Engage the gear lever [#6]
  3. Release the clutch [#8]
  4. Accelerate as necessary [#10]
